Beyond the Noise
Gillian Rosselli
With Gillian Rosselli, Gallery Toplev presents one of Zimbabwe's most significant contemporary painters: in 2024, she represented her home country at the Biennale in Venice, one of the most prestigious art forums in the world. Her further outstanding milestones include the exhibition "Five Bhobh - Painting At the End of an Era" at the Zeitz Museum of Contemporary Art Africa in Cape Town, South Africa (2018); "Hunyanzvi (Mastery)" - a group exhibition featuring works by ten leading Zimbabwean artists at Galerie Grisebach, Zurich (2025); The solo exhibition "Episodes of the Whole" at THK Gallery, Cape Town (2025). THK presented Rosselli's works at AKAA, Paris (2024) and at the Investec Cape Town Art Fair, Cape Town (2025). Her career has been recognized with numerous awards, including the First Prize for Painting in Zimbabwe in 1995. The artist's connection to Salzburg dates back to her participation in the Salzburg Summer Academy in 1999. Since then, she has returned regularly to the Pinzgau region, a place that gives her strength and inspiration, as it once did for many renowned artists before her. This bond continues with the exhibition Beyond The Noise, in which Rosselli presents new works from her Vienna studio.

Monika Herschberger
At the invitation of Gallery Toplev, Herschberger presents her latest paintings as part of her life-affirming exhibition "Movement.Gesture.Emotion." The exhibition includes a vernissage and an artist talk with the artist. Canvas, Brush, Jazz Music The works of Monika Herschberger are characterized by the use of intense colors and pictorial dynamism. In particular, the use of acrylic paints, often combined with luminous neon tones and pastel chalks, creates an immediate visual presence. The Language of
our Dreams
Monika Toplev x Vis À Vis Tanztheater

The Language of our Dreams brings together a meditative, quietly evocative selection of paintings by Monika Toplev. Works that invite the viewer to pause, look inward, and follow the imagery of the subconscious. On the 22nd of August, the exhibition opens into movement: Vis À Vis Tanztheater, the international dance ensemble directed by Anneliese Monika Koch, presents a live performance that responds to the paintings, translating their dreamlike language into gesture and space. For one evening, canvas and choreography meet in a shared exploration of memory, imagination, and the images we carry from sleep into waking life.
